Some courses at Barnfield College require students to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the enrolment process.
Courses requiring a DBS check:
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner
- Level 3 Health and Social Care
- T Level Education & Early Years: Early Years Educator
How to complete your DBS Check
There are two steps to complete your DBS check.
- Complete your application form
To start your check you need to complete your application.
To begin your application you will need to enter the unique Barnfield College application code. This code was sent to you as part of your Joining Pack. If you do not have the Barnfield College application code, contact the Admissions Team on 01582 569555 or

- Complete your check with our Industry Placement Team
The final stage of your DBS check will be completed with our Industry Placement Team during your on-campus enrolment session.
To complete your check, you must bring three different forms of identification and documentation with you. These documents must meet the DBS requirements outlined below.
One of the three forms of identification and documentation must be:
- A current passport
- Driving licence (full or provisional)
- UK Birth certificate and complete an online application
- Adoption Certificate
- Biometric residence permit
Additional documents could be:
- P45 or P60 document
- Bank or building society statement
- Opening letter from bank or building society
- Mortgage statement.
- Valid EU national ID Card
- Utility Bill (not Mobile phone)
- Council Tax statement
- Benefit statement
