This course is the perfect introduction to light vehicle maintenance. If you have a passion for cars and want a career working with them, then this is the course for you. You will develop the knowledge, skills and competencies to get to grips with the basics of vehicle maintenance.

To become a motor vehicle technician you’ll need strong practical skills and be good at fault finding and problem-solving. You will also need to be good with people and have great customer service skills.

  • Entry Criteria

    4 GCSEs (9-2) including English Language

  • What will I study?

    Training is through a mix of theory and practice in our modern workshops, subjects include:

    • Inspection techniques
    • Servicing
    • Identification and function of components
    • Health and safety
    • Electric vehicle awareness
    • Light vehicle awareness
  • Future Prospects

    Study for one year full time to complete this qualification and you will be ready to progress to the Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance. You'll be taking the next step towards a career working with cars.
