Our Skills for Life students are gaining valuable hands-on experience through their Supported Internships at London Luton Airport.
At Aelia Duty Free, students are getting involved in all aspects of the store. They’re helping with stocking, displays, serving customers and using the tills, gaining real experience in a busy retail setting.
The experience is helping students grow in confidence as they take on new responsibilities and interact with members of the public. Being part of a fast-paced team also gives them the chance to develop communication skills and learn how a professional workplace operates.
Throughout their internships, students are supported by job coaches as well as the team at Aelia Duty Free. This support helps them settle into their roles, build independence, and continue developing the skills they need for the future.
Supported Internships are designed to give students real workplace experience alongside their college studies, helping them prepare for life beyond education. For the students at London Luton Airport, it’s an opportunity to put their learning into practice and take important steps towards employment.
