Students from across Barnfield College’s creative courses came together this June to present their final major projects at the End of Year Creatives Show.
The exhibition featured work from a wide range of Level 3 Art & Design, Media, and Music courses.
A range of disciplines were showcased including Art & Design, Interior Design & Architecture, Digital Illustration & Animation, Creative Media Production, Games Design, and Music Performance & Production. These are just some of the mediums demonstrating the variety of skills learnt during the students’ time on their respective courses.
Krystian, a Level 3 Creative Media student, says: “My project was a music video based off an Amy Winehouse song. I am very proud of it because of the independence. The independence has been my greatest thing about this course, that it provides you with and the skills it will give you, because it will set you up for what you need to do next. Next, I’m going to be doing an apprenticeship at Sky Studios. College has set me up for a lot really. Thank you”.
Viviana, a Level 3 Art and Design student says: “My work is mostly about the opportunities that you could take but you didn’t actually take and it shows that this is you in the future like your older self and all the dreams. My dream is to become a tattoo artist. I really enjoy drawing, so this is a version of me later in life. The main idea behind this was that you need to follow your futures and you need to follow your dreams and just pick what you love to do”.
The event represented the culmination of our students’ academic and explorative journeys and gave them the opportunity to be proud of the work they’ve created. External visitors were also able to appreciate our students’ hard work and dedication.
Nadine Beck, Head of Hair, Beauty and Creative Industries at Barnfield College said: “Our Creatives End of Year Show was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their dedication, creativity, and talents to the wider community. Students exhibiting their work helps them to build confidence, develop industry skills, and gives them the experience of exhibiting their work. This is a testament to the hard work of students and staff involved throughout this academic year”.
