Because of the nature of these courses, you must not have been previously excluded from teaching or working with young people. If you are planning or applying to work with young people under 18 or vulnerable adults you will need to seek enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) clearance, this will be done through the College.
There is a minimum requirement of 75 placement hours.
- Entry Criteria
4 GCSEs (A*-C/9-4), including English language or maths, or a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care with English and maths.
You will need to complete a DBS check.

- Developing effective communication within health and social care - identify sources of information and support or services to enable more effective communication
- Sociological and psychological perspectives - study the application of sociological and psychological approaches to health and social care, and explore social inequalities, demographic change, and patterns and trends in social groups
- Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology - understand anatomy and physiology in relation to all forms of health and social care methods and procedures
- Research methodology for health and social care - explore the methodologies of contemporary research and investigate the implications for health and social care practice and services
- Supporting individuals care needs - establish the principles and practicalities that underpin meeting individuals’ care and support needs, which are the foundation of all the care disciplines
