If you are preparing to work in the industry or already employed and need an industry-recognised qualification, this course will help develop your existing skills and will introduce you to more advanced techniques. The programme is developed for delivery in a training environment where employment is not necessary.

  • Entry Criteria

    Successful completion of the Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry or relevant experience and skills.

  • What will I study?

    You will study:
    • Health, safety and welfare
    • Information, quantities and communication
    • Construction technology
    • Prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tools
    • First fixing operations (studwork & Linings & stairs)
    • Second fixing operations (architraves, skirting’s & doors)
    • Structural carcassing operations (Trussed roofs, Joists, floor coverings)
    • Maintenance to non-structural carpentry work

  • Future Prospects

    You’ll be ready for an advanced carpentry programme alongside work, or to start work as a junior carpenter.
