- Entry Criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for this Level 1 course. However, you should be working at a level that enables you to successfully access and achieve the qualification. This may be demonstrated through English and/or maths qualifications, industry experience, or prior achievement at a similar or higher level.
Applicants without formal qualifications will be invited to attend an assessment session to ensure they are working at an appropriate level. Where additional development is needed, our team will support learners to access suitable English and/or maths provision to build the core skills required for future progression onto a Level 1 qualification.
- What will I study?
This is a 16-week course, which is aimed at beginners to intermediate. The course covers maintenance of car systems in a fully equipped work shop environment. You will be taught to use specialist equipment correctly and safely in the work shop. The workshops are designed to teach hands on training giving you confidence to tackle basic service items and repairs safely.
You will learn:
• Health and Safety in the Workplace
• Locating, Interpreting and Using Technical Information
• Moving Loads and Vehicle Lifting
• Reducing Risks When Driving Vehicles
• Lubrication System Components and OperationThis course will take place on Wednesday evenings from 18:00 - 21:00.
- Future Prospects
Upon successful completion of this course you can progress onto other courses within Motor Vehicle, Body repair and Mechanical engineering. This will also expand your portfolio when looking for work in the Motor Vehicle sector.
