  • Entry Criteria

    GCSE English Language and maths grade 4 or equivalent.

    You are required to have a work placement in a school setting in Year 1 upwards for 2 days a week. You will be required to be in college two days a week (Wednesday & Friday) and in your suitable work placement for 2 days a week, out of which one day must be a Thursday for observations with the lead tutor (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). Written confirmation of this placement will be required at or before enrolment.

    You will need to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

This certificate relates to National Occupational Standards for Teaching Assistants. You will study subjects like Child Development, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Supporting Learning Activities.
