  • Entry Criteria

    To enrol on a Level 1 Diploma, applicants should demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning and a commitment to developing the fundamental skills required for their chosen area of study.

    Typically, applicants will have studied a GCSE programme or be able to demonstrate that they are working at or towards Level 1.

    Applicants without formal qualifications may be invited to complete an initial assessment in English and maths to determine the most suitable level of study.

    • Awareness of protection and safeguarding – understand the importance of confidentiality
    • Introduction to communication – understand the methods and barriers surrounding communication
    • Introductory awareness of health and safety – understand a worker’s responsibility for health and safety
    • Introductory awareness of person-centred support – understand the benefits to an individual of person-centred support
    • Introductory awareness of the importance of healthy eating and drinking for adults – explore the importance of a balance diet
    • Human growth and development - Identify the main stages of growth and development across the human lifespan
