  • Entry Criteria

    GCSE English Language and maths grade 4 or equivalent.

    You are required to have a work placement in a school setting in Year 1 upwards for 2 days a week. You will be required to be in college two days a week (Wednesday & Friday) and in your suitable work placement for 2 days a week, out of which one day must be a Thursday for observations with the lead tutor (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). Written confirmation of this placement will be required at or before enrolment.

    You will need to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

    This course will help develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance when working in a school. This certificate relates to National Occupational Standards for Teaching Assistants. You will study subjects like Child Development, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Supporting Learning Activities.
