Develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours to become a Motor Vehicle Technician, while working as an Apprentice in a garage and training on the job.
- Entry Criteria
GCSE Maths 9-4 and GCSE English 9-4.
In order to apply for an apprenticeship you need to have an employer and apprenticeship job ready to go.You need to have paid employment in a garage for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

- What will I study?
• Manufacturer, workplace and Health and Safety procedures
• Working as part of a team
• Communicating with colleagues and customers
• Carrying out routine servicing on cars and light commercials
• Removing and replacing components within engine, electrical, chassis and transmission systems
• Diagnosing and rectifying faults within engine, electrical, chassis and transmission systems
• Inspecting vehicles and reporting on condition including MOT complianceTo achieve the qualification, you will need to complete an end point assessment.
- Future Prospects
Progress into Industry as a fully qualified Light Motor Vehicle Technician, advance onto Level 4 or Level 5 Motor Vehicle qualifications, Master Technician qualifications, or progress onto a MOT testing course.
