Supporting You

During your time at College we want you to enjoy yourself, work hard and achieve – being happy and getting involved is an important part of this. We’re here to help whenever you need us!

Advice and guidance

Our Student Support staff are available on every campus, on hand to provide advice on finance, personal support, careers information and much more. Feel free to drop in any time to chat, or contact us on pastoralsupport@barnfield.ac.uk for advice and guidance.

Learning Resource Centres

Rethink what you know about learning. Our LRCs are hives of information and e-learning, and exclusively available to our students. Stacked with a wealth of resources, you’ll find everything you need – e-books, electronic newspaper subscriptions, journal databases and a wealth of online study.

One-to-one support

If ever you find yourself in need of a little extra support, our Study Plus team provide one-to-one sessions to help you unlock your full potential. If you need help with English or maths, a particular subject area, advice on research, or simply someone to proofread your work, the Study Plus team will be on hand to help. Drop into any LRC to book your session or email LRC@barnfield.ac.uk.

Learning Support

During the first few weeks of term we assess all our students. This is so we can identify any areas where you may need extra help with your studies. We can then offer you individual support such as specialist teaching, adapted materials, classroom support and special examination arrangements.
