There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you will be invited to an interview.
This is a 15-week course, which will aid you in the basics of how to MAG weld steel, from setting up equipment safely, correctly, competently and selecting appropriate range for thickness of steel you will be gaining confidence in welding. You will be using MAG welders in a designated area.
The workshops are designed to start at a beginner level and to get you to a competent level of welding. At the end of the course, you will have created a portfolio of images of welding tasks carried out.
You will learn:
-Health and Safety in welding
-Equipment use and maintenance
-Plug welding
-Butt joint welding
-Fillet joint welding
-Seam welding
-Basic steel fabrication
-Spot welding
-Developing a portfolio of images
