Course introduction

This course will support and prepare you for progression into Higher Education. This is a fast-paced course and requires a large time commitment and an ability to plan and organise independent learning. There is an expectation of 20 hours independent learning outside of college hours.

Students must be aged 19 or older on 31st August to study Access to Higher Education courses. It is best suited to the needs of adults/mature learners who wish to progress to degrees in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Child & Adolescent Studies and other social science and related degree courses. Applicants must demonstrate a sound general education. GCSE grades are not necessary but applicants must successfully complete the entry tests in Literacy and Numeracy and demonstrate the ability to cope with the demands of the course in interview.
