Michael McCabe – HND Music Lecturer
I have been teaching for 20 years, and I’m also a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and
As I teach, I also continue to add to my education to keep up with this ever-changing and developing industry. In 2013, I completed my Master’s degree in Music Research, Exploring Music in Film and Related Culture.
I have also pursued a career in the music industry alongside my teaching. As a signed recording artist and co-songwriter in a group with which I have co-written, performed and recorded three critically acclaimed studio albums, as well as contributing music with other
David Hartmann – HND Music Lecturer
I studied a BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology at Anglia Ruskin University and graduated
in 2014. During this time I studied experimental production techniques, sound design and
software/hardware music development.
After graduating I started my career at Barnfield as a Music Technician where I also worked
towards my Post Graduate Certificate in Education and produced sonic art commissions for
the University of Bedfordshire.
Since then I have become a curriculum developer for the HNC and HND in music cohort for
the past five years. I also work on an experimental audio-visual music project called the L
Within this project I explore alternative and experimental sound design and production techniques and embed custom built audio and visual software elements within the music.
Throughout the last four years I have built a number of bespoke synthesisers, both through hardware and software for use within live situations and in the studio.
From self-releasing my first record, I have signed to multiple London based recorded label’s and I have further releases scheduled for 2021.
