Barnfield College’s Students Services and the Apprenticeships team have been accredited with the matrix Standard – the nationally recognised quality mark, which assesses the advice and support services organisations provide to support individuals in their selection of career, study and life goals.
Several ‘areas of particular key strength’ were identified including: highly regarded Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) team by students, apprentices and employers; effective leadership and management around supporting IAG; and very well developed feedback mechanisms.
Vice Principal for Transforming Equalities and Safeguarding, Claire Dores, said: “I am delighted that the outstanding work we do at the College has been formally recognised by the matrix Standard.
“Meeting this standard is a great achievement for the College and a testament to how we place our students at the heart of everything we do, especially at a time when schools are reducing their careers and IAG provision.
Areas of improvement were also identified which will assist the College in developing or enhancing their services further.
