Entry Requirements
C (or 4) or above in GCSE English and maths and a minimum of two additional GCSEs at grade C (or 4) or above or a strong Merit profile on a relevant Level 2 course. In addition to the grades above, all applicants will be invited to an interview where they will be required to audition. Exceptional students without this will be considered on an individual basis.

The majority of students completing the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance & Production will progress to the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance & Production. Some students may also progress into a range of entry-­level roles in the creative industries.
Additional Information
Students have access to professional practice rooms and recording suites, industry standard software and equipment, and cutting edge synthesisers such as Roli Seaboards. Additionally, courses are taught by staff with extensive professional music industry experience, many of whom progressed from music courses at Barnfield to university.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The UAL Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance & Production has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of music performance and production disciplines. The qualification has been designed for students who have an interest in music performance and/or music production who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full-­time, immersive learning experience. Many students will have identified a specific career in the creative industries that they wish to progress to (e.g. performer, songwriter, producer, engineer etc.), using this qualification to build on skills and knowledge acquired via Level 2 qualifications such as the UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance & Production or GCSEs. The qualification will enable students to: - Have a critical and contextual awareness of different perspectives and approaches within music performance and production or related subjects of study or work - Research, analyse and evaluate relevant information and ideas in order to develop creative solutions - Understand, adapt and safely use appropriate and practical methods and skills for creative production - Solve complex problems through the application of practical, theoretical and technical understanding - Critically review the effectiveness and appropriateness of methods, actions and results - Use evaluative and reflective skills in order to take responsibility for own learning, development and decision-­ making - Take responsibility for the research, planning, time management and actions to access progression opportunities - Effectively present themselves and their work to appropriate audiences.
