A minimum of Entry 3 or some GCSEs at grade 2 plus the ability to achieve Level 1 in English and maths.

Additional Information
Because of the nature of the course you must not have been previously excluded from teaching or working with young people. If you are planning or applying to work with young people under 18 or vulnerable adults you will need to seek enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) clearance. This should be done through your employer but in some cases may be done through the College. You may be required to pay the fee for this.
You will gain the knowledge and skills needed to care for young children, and learn about a child’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development. You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods which may include designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning.
