Entry Requirements
Students wishing to apply for this course will need to have gained at least 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade D or above, including English, maths and science or hold an alternative, appropriate technical qualification. You will also be considered should you have at least two years of relevant work experience. Entry on to this course is subject to interview and a colour blindness test.

This course covers the basic principles of electrical installation, validated by City and Guilds. To become fully qualified you will need to complete the Level 3 certificate together with an NVQ3 in Electrical Installation. To achieve the NVQ candidates must be working in the industry. During this course students will cover the following areas: Workshop Safety Care of Tools & Equipment Measuring and Marking Out Installing Lighting Circuits Installing Power Circuits Earthing and Bonding Circuit Testing. The above units include the following installation methods: PVC, Conduit Steel, Conduit Mims, Cable, Metal Trunking, Cable Tray.
