32 UCAS points from an appropriate level 3 qualification such as: BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, or other relevant subject area. A-Levels in Health and Social Care related subjects. English Language and maths GCSE at 3/D or equivalent (typically FS L2). Sector experience if possible. An IELTS score of 5.5 is required for international learners. GCSE maths is required for many of the top-up full honours degrees and therefore it is recommended that students have this upon application or look to complete it as part of their studies. We welcome applications from international or mature students without the required formal qualifications. All students will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check for placements.

Students graduating from this course can progress to a one year top-up degree at university in a related field. Alternatively, you could progress into employment into any of the roles below. **Healthcare Assistant pathway:** Lower non-clinical co-ordinator and supervisory roles in healthcare administration, operation and support services, e.g. information, office, patient services, estates, health improvement services **Integrated Health and Social Care pathway:** Senior care assistant, senior support worker in a range of health and care settings, pathway tracker, integrated support worker, care navigator or coordinator. This HND could include subjects such as: • Law, policy and ethical practice in Health and Social Care • Supporting Dementia Care • Assessed work placements • Fundamentals of evidence-based practice (set project) • Supporting individuals through significant life events A brand new feature of qualification is the Practical Learning Assessment Development portfolio. This will involve completing 450 hours of work placement. We advise that your placement is secured prior to starting the course.
