Entry Requirements
Applicants will be invited to take an initial assessment to ensure that they have suitable levels of English and maths, required to complete the programme of study. Our part-time provision is designed primarily for adult students, aged 19 and over. Students aged 16 to 18 may be allowed to enrol on the course at the discretion of the Head of Admissions and Head of School. After completing your Access to HE diploma you will then be ready to head straight to university on to a degree of your choosing. ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to develop their English, maths and study skills in order to progress to a higher level of study at college. It will prepare you for the Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health, Social Care or a related field, alternatively you can progress to GCSE study, depending on your starting point. Access to HE qualifications are for students aged 19 and above, the course opens up the opportunity study at university. Course modules can include: Writing for different audiences and purposes, including academic writing Reading different texts with speed and accuracy Fundamental spelling, punctuation and grammar skills development Mathematics skills development including fractions, ratios and percentages Statistics including averages and probability Problem solving IT Skills development including internet research skills Time-management and study skills
