Employment in the Lifelong Learning Sector. Once you have successfully completed your Cert Ed, you can apply to the Education and Training Foundation to complete the professional formation process which will give you Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status. QTLS is recognised in law as equal to QTS for teaching in schools.
Additional Information
Wednesday morning 9.30 to 2.00 or Wednesday evening classes 4.30 to 9.00. Because of the nature of the course you must not have been previously excluded from teaching or working with young people. If you are planning or applying to work with young people under 18 or vulnerable adults you will need to seek enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) clearance. This should be done through your employer but in some cases may be done through the College. You may be required to pay the fee for this.
This course is designed to provide the underpinning knowledge to support you to teach in the post 16 sector. It will help you to develop your knowledge and skills and build a toolkit of ideas and resources to support your teaching.
