College Update – 5 January 2021
You will have seen the address from Government (4 January) announcing further national restrictions to clamp down on the spread of the virus, including the closure of schools and colleges.
For full time students, all lessons will continue in line with course timetables, online through Canvas and Microsoft Teams. Students should check Canvas regularly for any messages posted by teachers.
BTEC qualification examinations
There are a number of examinations scheduled between Monday 4 and Friday 16 January. These exams will continue as planned and students should attend their exams as previously directed.
Students who are the children of Key Workers
Students with parents/carers in Key Worker jobs will be able to attend College campuses as usual.
Students with additional learning needs and/or disabilities will be able to attend College campuses to access lessons being delivered remotely by teachers with the support of members of the College’s Student Support teams. Students with known special considerations will be contacted by a member of the College’s student support team next week to discuss and agree their individual return arrangements.
All the College’s student support services are available to all students online.
Free College Meals
For students entitled to free college meals, we will continue to pay students their regular weekly payment into the bank account that they would usually receive these payments. If you have any questions please email our Student Support team at firstname.lastname@example.org
Students on part-time courses, apprenticeships and higher education courses will continue to receive specific updates by email.
