Barnfield College is celebrating after achieving the Investors in Diversity Standard at Stage 2.
The prestigious award is about creating conditions for promoting greater engagement, communication and discussion with the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
Those that achieve the Investors in Diversity Award have been enabled to take a structured and planned approach to embedding EDI at the heart of what they do. It also provides an excellent framework to bring together an organisation’s work around EDI.
Speaking about the College’s success, Claire Dores, Vice-Principal for Transforming Equalities and Safeguarding, said:
“We are proud to have achieved the Investors in Diversity Award, a prestigious quality mark and an all-encompassing approach to managing equality, diversity and inclusion effectively. We are committed to being a College that creates opportunities for people no matter what their circumstances and will continue to make a large investment in raising the awareness of EDI.”
The assessor at The National Centre for Diversity added:
“It is great to see the progress made by the College in the last year. The Principal and his new management team have made a positive impact. The survey results have significantly improved year on year and the College is making good progress against its own plans based on its diverse needs.”
The National Centre for Diversity has provided Barnfield College with an insightful and positive report that will support the College in moving further in its EDI journey.
