Remember – we’re here to help – do give us a call if you have any queries about applying to Barnfield College.Barnfield College recommends that you contact us as soon as you begin considering an apprenticeship, no matter what time of year. This is so that we can explain the programme to you and make sure you know exactly what is involved. You will also need time to select an employer who is willing to support your training. Once you have secured employment, it is advisable to undergo a period of on-site training for at least two months for what is known as a "probationary period".
This will help you to decide whether an apprenticeship is the right course for you and whether the trade you have chosen suits your skills and meets your expectations.
In other words, although the college course will not usually commence until September, the apprenticeship can begin before that through work-based training provided by your employer.
