Barnfield Training Services works closely with employers and young people to provide skills for work through Apprenticeships. You can benefit from training with a company and receive a wage as an employee while learning at college. An Apprenticeship will give you a skill for life, nationally recognised and sought after by employers.

Our staff are specialists in combining employment with professional training as part of an apprenticeship programme.

We offer apprenticeships in Motor Vehicle, Body Repair, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting and Decorating, Plastering, Hairdressing, Electrical Installation, Engineering, Manufacturing, IT and Computing and Dental Nursing.

Over 150 local companies work with us to provide employment opportunities for apprentices in Bedfordshire and Luton.

Barnfield Training Services offers Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships at Levels 2 and 3 respectively.

Barnfield Training Services provides:

  • Employer briefing and check to establish the company's suitability to support apprentices.
  • Briefing, interview, basic skills and industry skills tests for applicants.
  • Scheme of work with timetable of training for workplace and college.
  • Trade-specific liaison officer assigned to each apprentice to coordinate training.
  • Regular visits to employer and apprentice to ensure good progress.
  • Off-site induction for apprentices focusing on personal development, motivation, team building and achieving goals.

We assign a Liaison Officer to each apprentice to provide support and guidance to ensure the best possible results for employers and individuals. Liaison Officers are always happy to meet employers and young people to discuss training needs and offer assistance.

Apprenticeship programmes are available to young people under the age of 25 at the start of the apprenticeship programme and are available to both new and existing employees. You can either choose to recruit an apprentice, or place an existing employee on the programme.
