Bedfordshire Body Positive in Luton, which supports people living with HIV/AIDS, is £170 better off, thanks to an initiative by Barnfield College Luton.
After an inspection of a complementary therapy facility at BBP manned by Barnfield foundation degree students, officials from the International Federation of Aromatherapists decided to make a donation to the charity.
The cheque was handed to Alison Cooper, the course leader, at a recent federation conference. The donation will be used to buy extra supplies and equipment for the therapy facility.
A large part of the foundation degree is work-based learning with 10 Barnfield students working in local charities.
The Barnfield degree is one of the few in the country which combines theory with work-based learning. Call BBP on 01582 485448 or email bbpositive@btconnect.com to make a donation or for further information.
