Vauxhall has donated a brand-new Vauxhall Insignia to Barnfield College Luton to boost training facilities for motor vehicle engineering students.
The Insignia model won the prestigious European Car of the Year award this year.
More than 70 Barnfield students will train on the 5-door 2.0-litre diesel model to gain an insight into why the Insignia is one of the most technologically advanced cars on the market today. The model is worth about £23,000 on the road.
"Vauxhall is pleased to be able to help students in our local community," said Bill Parfitt, Chairman and Managing Director, GM UK. "The Insignia has become the biggest selling car in its class since launch, and we hope that the vehicle we've donated will be a great learning asset to Barnfield's engineering and technology students."
Pete Birkett, Barnfield's Chief Executive, said: "We are very grateful to Vauxhall for its continued support. The donation of this ultra modern vehicle will provide our students, apprentices and technicians with the opportunity to learn the higher level skills that are needed when working on today's motor vehicles."
Vauxhall has donated a number of Insignias to other universities and colleges across the country.
