Success for New Entrepreneurs

18 March 2009

Budding entrepreneurs from the Barnfield Studio School in Luton have presented The Pasque Charity with a cheque for more than £155, the profits from small businesses run by the students.

The talented students, aged 14 and 15, from the Studio School at New Bedford Road, took on The Pasque's School Charity Challenge to raise much-needed funds.

After four weeks of careful planning and marketing, the students organised successful car washes, a cake sale, face-painting and other fund-raisers.
Barnfield College is running Britain's first Studio School with students chosen from Barnfield South and West Academies, studying business start-up and vocational courses.

Pete Birkett, Barnfield's Chief Executive, said: "This was the perfect opportunity for our budding entrepreneurs to showcase their many talents and knowledge. Developing entrepreneurial skills is so important for creating jobs and securing Britain's economic future. Our students are tomorrow's businesspeople , able to successfully rise to any challenge."
