A Barnfield College ESOL student has been named as Luton’s Young Achiever of the Year.
Asif Rahmani, 18, an Afghani refugee who lost the use of his legs in a road accident on his way to the UK, is training for a place in the UK skiing team for the London Paralympics in 2012.
Asif was handed his award at the glittering Pride in Luton ceremony held annually in the town. He won the title from a field of six finalists.
