Part time Courses
Our part time guide and application form will be available by the end of the academic year. Some courses have specific entry requirements and these are published in the Part time guide.
Higher Education Courses
The application method depends on your course: University Level Courses
Barnfield College offers an exciting and extensive range of University Level, professionally recognised qualifications perfect for students continuing in education as well as those who are already working and would like a change of direction. Our courses can boost promotional prospects for those already in employment.
- For full-time Foundation Degrees, HNCs and HNDs you will need to apply online via UCAS: www.ucas.ac.uk/students/apply . UCAS applications require you to provide a unique code to identify which course you are applying for and which education institution it’s being offered at
- Both Part-time Foundation Degrees and HNC and HND you may also complete a college application form rather than going through UCAS.
- For more information on all courses full and part-time please contact us on: 01582 569 569 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
When applying for a course you must meet the entry requirements – these may include certain subjects and/or grades, as well as a minimum ‘points total’ that is based on the UCAS tariff. The UCAS tariff converts different qualifications and grades into equivalent points. Find out what your existing qualifications are worth by using the tariff table online at www.ucas.com. HE courses are validated by Pearson and The University of Bedfordshire.
Discussion with staff
After you apply you’ll need to discuss your application with one of our tutors who’ll be able to ensure that the course you’ve chosen is right for you, as well as answer any questions you may have and we see this as a supportive process. You will be informed prior to this of any additional requirements such as a portfolio of work or audition piece and if you would like more information or guidance on this process please complete an enquiry form.
More information on Foundation Degrees may be made available through the University of Bedfordshire website http://www.beds.ac.uk/howtoapply/courses/foundation-degrees
Our Foundation Degree qualifications are validated through the University of Bedfordshire. Our HNC and HND programmes are validated through Pearsons.
You’ll then be notified of the outcome of your application either by the College (for direct applications) or through UCAS (for UCAS applications). The notification will explain to you what you need to do next if you have been offered a place on your course.
