Hair, Beauty & Holistics

We offer all pathways of study in Hairdressing, Beauty & Spa Therapy, Holistic Therapy, Make Up and Nail Technology with specialist progression routes to Foundation Degree programmes with the University of Bedfordshire.

For 14yrs + fun activities such as Summer School provide Tasters to our careers opportunities and Vocational Options for progressing learning with Campus Luton.

New for this year is the Young Apprenticeship programme for 14+ in Hairdressing following our established outstanding 16+ Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships.
Annually we participate in events to broaden the horizons of our learners; UK Skills competitions, Fashion Shows, Theatre productions, AoC Conference, Pasque Hospice, Hyde Park Moonwalk, BB Positive, Grove House Hospice to name a few.

Progression and Employment

Through our many links with industry our learners have gone on to achieve higher qualifications including Foundation and Honours Degrees, as well as jobs within some of the top employers regionally, nationally and internationally.

The Numbers

The department currently has 714 learners across all disciplines, ranging from Levels 1, 2, 3 to Foundation Degrees and Apprenticeships.

There are currently 20 Full Time and 36 Part Time teaching staff with 4 Support Staff and 2 Full Time work based assessors. They are managed by 1 Head of Department and 2 Deputy Head's of Department.

All full time staff are qualified to teacher status with vocational specialisms which meet awarding body CPD requirements. Quality of teaching and learning is confirmed with 96% observation grades rated as good or better.
