The Department of Computing, IT & e-Learning provides a wide range of curriculum from introductory level courses to Foundation Degree level and industry standard training often provided as a bespoke solution.

Full and Part-time provision includes courses that allow students who work or wish to work in e-Commerce, Web Design, Software Applications, Architectural Drawing, Computer Systems Maintenance and Computer Networking Engineering to develop their skills.

In addition, the department runs a suite of courses specifically linked to the demands of the computing industry - CISCO, Microsoft, and ORACLE.

The department is well-resourced with high quality industry standard items of equipment for the delivery to all students. Our industry standard courses lead to vendor qualifications that may be assessed in our (Vue & Prometric) testing centre

The department has a proven track record of training students to international standards including the successful UK team for EuroSkills 2008.

Progression and Employment

Students from this department have gone on to achieve many higher qualifications - including Foundation and Honours Degrees - as well as jobs within leading employers such as: ONI, Anritsu, Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking.

The Numbers

The department currently has 618 full and part-time students. You will be taught in groups of between 18 and 20. There are 21 full-time staff plus visiting lecturers used as required ensuring you will always get good quality time with your tutor.

Location

Based at Barnfield's Technology campus you will have access to all of the College's excellent facilities.
