Business & Management

The Business and Management Department is a Centre of Vocational Excellence, attracting students from all over the region and even internationally.

We are an experienced and very diverse team who deliver a range of professionally recognised qualifications through awarding bodies including the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX).

We also deliver full-time accounting, business, ICT and management qualifications from Entry level to BTEC National Diploma level.

The department also offers National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in Business and Administration, Customer Service, Information and Library Services and Teaching Assistants.

We work in partnership with many local and national employers, providing the right choice for them. In 2007-08, over £90,000 of income was generated by the department, directly, from businesses.

Progression and Employment

Students from this department have gone on to achieve many higher qualifications - including Foundation and Honours Degrees - as well as jobs within some of the country's/region's/town's top employers such as: London Luton Airport, Luton Borough Council, Jordan's Cereals and Next.

Job roles and career routes include accounting, administration, bookkeeping, business, computing, customer service, personnel, retail, teaching, trainers - all in a management capacity.

Location

Based at Barnfield's New Bedford Road campus you will have access to all of the College's excellent facilities including the learning resource centre, restaurant and crèche.
