Entry Requirements
Grade 4 in GCSE English and maths and two additional GCSEs at grade 4 or a good profile on a Level 2 qualification.
Leads on to
Learners who complete this qualification are eligible to become a State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) with The Hairdressing Council. This qualification's primary purpose is to prepare learners for employment as senior hairdresser/stylist. Learners may also choose to further develop their knowledge and skills by undertaking an advanced specialist qualification at Level 4.
Additional Information
You will need to purchase a uniform and kit. Prices will be given at interview. Part of the course will involve trips and visits to The Wella Studio for college focus days, Salon international and the clothes show. We are a Centre of Excellence for Wella; All of the products used for styling, shampooing, conditioning and colouring are by Wella, one of the best companies in the industry.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing (QCF) is a technical level qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed Hairdresser/Stylist. This qualification is based on Hairdressing National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK's lead hairdressing professional association (The Hairdressing Council) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a Senior Hairdresser/Stylist. Learners will further develop their understanding and skills by selecting a number of optional specialist units which include: hair colour correction and bridal hairstyling; the full list of optional units is presented in the learner Record of Assessment book (RoA). The units you will be carrying out include: · Promote and sell products and services to clients · Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon · Cut women's hair to create a variety of looks · Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques · Colour hair to create a variety of looks · Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues · Colour correction · Creative design
