This qualification will prepare you for further study at Level 2 or you can enter employment or apprenticeship at Junior level.
Additional Information
All students will be required to purchase a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit and safety boots. The PPE kit will need to be purchased via the College for £40. Safety boots cost approximately £25 and can be purchased externally or via the College. All tools will be provided but students are welcome and encouraged to use their own hand tools. (Personal electrical power tools are not allowed for health and safety reasons).
This course aims to introduce you to Plastering. This will allow you to learn the necessary basic hand skills that are essential in order to apply plaster materials to different types of backgrounds and the underpinning knowledge behind the principles of modern and traditional plastering. Skills and knowledge you will learn:
Hand skills to allow you to plaster
The ability to calculate quantities
How to use hand and powered tools
What type of plaster to apply to different backgrounds
The reasons for different types of plaster and how best to use them
How to stay safe at work
How to professionally work and communicate with others
