Grade 3 in GCSE English and maths and two additional GCSEs at grade 3 or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

This qualification's primary purpose is to prepare learners for employment as a Junior Beautician/Beauty Specialist. Learners may also choose to develop their skills further by undertaking Technical Level qualifications in Beauty Therapy at Level 3.
Additional Information
You will need to purchase a Beauty Kit and a Beauty Therapy uniform. Prices will be given at interview.
ABOUT THE COURSE
This qualification will include all the required elements to work effectively as a Junior Beauty Specialist including: removing hair using waxing techniques, applying make-up, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, manicure, pedicure, facial skincare, client care, health and safety and fulfilling salon reception duties. You will also learn aspects of anatomy and physiology and develop your interpersonal and communication skills. You will learn: · Facial skin care · Removing hair using waxing techniques · Provide eyelash and brow treatments · Apply make-up · Client care and communication in the beauty sector · Provide manicure treatments · Provide pedicure treatments · Follow health & safety in the salon · Salon reception duties · Instruction on make-up application · Display stock to promote in a salon · Create an image on a theme within the beauty sector This qualification is based on the Beauty Therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK’s leading professional bodies - which include The British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (BABTAC) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) - as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a Junior Beautician/Beauty Therapist.
