This is a City & Guilds Level 1 accounting qualification and candidates can progress to the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting.
This qualification is designed for individuals who wish to start their career in the Accounting sector. This course covers a range of topics from basic bookkeeping practices to the recording of transactions using double entry bookkeeping. The aim of the qualification is to provide candidates with an introduction to book-keeping practices and to process source documents that underpin accurate record keeping. Candidates will:
Check and process documents involved in financial record keeping
Develop skills to carry out routine bookkeeping processes
Develop underpinning knowledge of bookkeeping principles
Prepare statements as a preliminary to financial control
