Level 1 in Caring for Children quali?cations or Level 1 Personal and Social Development quali?cations are a great next step as this course shares some units with these quali?cations. Credits achieved from these units can be transferred over and count towards the next quali?cation.
Additional Information
Because of the nature of the course you must not have been previously excluded from teaching or working with young people. If you are planning or applying to work with young people under 18 or vulnerable adults you will need to seek enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) clearance. This should be done through your employer but in some cases may be done through the College. You may be required to pay the fee for this.
These quali?cations develop the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child including those who want to develop parenting and life skills, including special educational needs or where English is an additional language. There is a choice of units from setting a routine, through to healthy lifestyles and the importance of play and learning. You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor through a range of methods such as designing charts or lea?ets, or methods such as oral questioning.
