Additional Information
All students will be required to purchase a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit and safety boots. The PPE kit will need to be purchased via the College for £40. Safety boots cost approximately £25 and can be purchased externally or via the College.
The Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry aims to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work in Site Carpentry in the construction industry or progress to further training. The programme is developed for delivery in a training environment where employment is not necessary. The learner will cover knowledge in three core subject areas: - Health, safety and welfare - Information, quantities and communication - Construction technology The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in: - Prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tools - First fixing operations (studwork & Linings & stairs) - Second fixing operations (architraves, skirting’s & doors) - Structural carcassing operations (Trussed roofs, Joists, floor coverings) - Maintenance to non-structural carpentry work The units split into knowledge & practical delivery. Practical workshops are designed to give you simulated activities developing hand skills and these are assessed as you progress through your qualification. Your knowledge on completion of individual units is assessed by way of an online assessment.
