At Barnfield College we are committed to the recruitment, development and retention of a diverse workforce, and will actively engage with our local communities to build our reputation as an employer which recognises and values difference. Our recruitment practices are reflective of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy and other legislation, and we will at all times adhere to safe employment procedures which place the safety of children and young people at the heart of all our practices.

Barnfield College is committed to eliminating unlawful discrimination and to promoting equality of opportunity by fostering an atmosphere of mutual harmony and respect among all our potential and existing students and staff, regardless of their gender, marital status, disability, colour, race, nationality or ethnic origin, learning difficulty, religion or belief, sexual orientation or age. Our aim is to ensure that all recruitment decisions are based solely on competency, ability and performance. To reflect this, in 2017 we achieved the Investors in Diversity Standard at Stage 2.

Information for Applicants with Disabilities

We welcome applications from people with disabilities and aim to make our processes as inclusive as possible. Therefore if you have any special requirements or need assistance with the application or selection process, please let us know.

Barnfield College is a Disability Confident Employer

Also in 2017, we achieved the status of Disability Confident Employer. By being part of the scheme, we are ensuring that disabled people and those with long term health conditions have the opportunities to fulfill their potential and realise their aspirations. We are also helping to change attitudes and perceptions of disability for the better.

Disability – Two Ticks Employer

In May 2015, Barnfield College was awarded the Two Ticks accreditation. This is a recognition awarded by Jobcentre Plus to employers who make certain positive commitments around employment, retention, training and career development.

If you have a disability, you only need to state your disability in the equal opportunities section of the application so that any changes or reasonable adjustments to the job, conditions, hours or environment that you may find beneficial, can be made.
