Our Governance

At Barnfield College our Governors, Senior Leadership Team and managers strive to provide passionate, visionary, effective and pragmatic leadership through good practices which exceed expectations.

The culture being developed is that of a positive critical ‘can do' team that is reflective, honest, transparent and brings about quality improvements.

Clear strategic leadership will be maintained through anticipation of national drivers and local demands to ensure excellence. This is reflected in the federal structure between the College and the two academies being sponsored by the College.

We have a number of key objectives to ensure we continue to offer excellence in everything we do:

  • Review the College mission/vision/core values and corporate image in light of recent white papers and sponsorship of academies
  • Create a shared vision that is owned by all College staff
  • Through consultation produce a college three year strategic plan
  • Introduce a "business excellence" model setting clear expectations to achieve high standards of quality and service
  • Successfully implement the new "framework of excellence"
  • Develop a range of performance indicators (quality standards) to measure and improve management performance
  • Embed a culture of performance management throughout the whole college
  • Encourage all College staff to continually develop and improve
  • Ensure the College develops a "Reputation Management" strategy.
