Pete Birkett, Principal of Barnfield College Welcome to the Barnfield website. This site is designed to enable you to access the information that you need, easily and speedily.

Barnfield College is a great place to study, gain qualifications and learn new skills. Barnfield is recognised as a dynamic, innovative, forward thinking and entrepreneurial college. I am immensely proud of the achievements of our students, and the commitment of our staff, towards delivering excellence. Barnfield is a Beacon College, an Investor in People (IiP) Champion and graded "outstanding" by Ofsted - we are within the top 5% of colleges nationally.

As a part of the Government's Academy Programme, Barnfield broke new ground on 1st September 2007, by becoming the first Further Education College in the country to sponsor two underperforming secondary schools in Luton and create a federation. Within two years, the academies (West and South) have made remarkable strides, both tripling GCSE results, with West moving from the bottom of the Luton League Table of Secondary Schools to the top. In mid November, the Secretary of state announced that Barnfield is the first FE College in the Country to secure Government support to set up a new Studio School (Enterprise Academy) for 14-18 year old students.

We provide a wide range of vocational courses and career opportunities at all levels to Foundation Degree status. Our full-time and part-time courses are designed to develop your skills, knowledge and qualification base, or provide opportunities for you to build a new career.

Our staff are enthusiastic, caring, highly skilled and totally dedicated to ensuring that all students are happy, successful and reach their full potential.
